The Million Dollar Quartet

The Million Dollar Quartet is the name given to recordings made on Tuesday December 4, 1956 in the Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The recordings were of an impromptu jam session when Elvis Presley dropped in unannounced to visit his former record company and joined Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash in several gospel, R&B, and rock and roll tunes. It was arguably the first supergroup.
